Wrongdoings in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana:
Every great scheme is highly vulnerable to become a scam especially a scheme on a big scale as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.
- Many people whose daughters are already above 10 years of age are using various loopholes in the system to make themselves eligible for the scheme.
- Bureaucrats, clerks, people with a good political approach are misappropriating the funds directly from the Sukanya Samriddhi accounts. Multiple cases have been reported of funds gone missing from various Kanya accounts in UP and other states.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana ( SSY):
The classic Indian society has considered a girl child as a burden, specifically a financial one on the account of the wealth a couple of parents has to spend on her education, marriage, etc. A significant number of girl students fail to enroll for upper primary school education as their parents withdraw them from schooling because they believe it’s costly. Almost every other parent has to take loans to get their girls married.
To alleviate the above-mentioned fallacy of the Indian social structure towards the girl children and to make sure every girl becomes the recipient of the best of the education she can get. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana was launched and an entire section of it is dedicated to the financial concerns of parents in raising a BETI, Known as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.
